Penile enlargement, sometimes amusingly called male enhancement, is a technique that involves increasing the volume, length, and firmness of the male penis.
How to enlarge the penis
Procedures range from exercise to stretching devices and surgery, with success and failure reports from around the world. Some of these are outright scams, while others can be successful. Often in advertising fraudulent products, the distinction between a temporary increase, that is, an erection, and a permanent increase is deliberately distorted.
There has been one legitimate research done specifically regarding penile enlargement; where it turned out that any statements about a significant and constant increase can be attributed to biased or unsystematic, unverified objective research, and may be on the side of the interests and emotions of the source. There is currently no evidence that there are non-surgical methods that continually increase both the thickness and length of the normal penis. A general study has been conducted regarding the safety and efficacy (or lack thereof) of the ingredients of various pharmaceutical and quasi-pharmaceutical preparations; but so far, nothing has been found to force traditional medicine to use them. There is also some inherent invasive procedures, the negative results of which range from skin tears and scarring to long-term loss of sexual function. As a result of the speculative nature of any hope of "improvement" and the many known cases of chronic trauma involved in this attempt, many professionals are skeptical about the topic and tend to avoid this area.
Much of the commercial market for penis enlargement procedures is based on the unverified claims that a large cock increases sexual prowess and attractiveness to a potential partner.
Enlargement of a normal penis differs from seeking relief from the well-known medical condition of the microelene, where surgery can intervene to increase the size of the organ for urination or sexual function. Concern about penis size can be (in extreme cases) a psychological / psychiatric condition that is best dealt with with qualified doctors.
Penis enlargement surgery
There are several types of surgery, all of which carry the risk of similar complications. The Second International Sexual Dysfunction Consultation concluded that most men will not want to undergo any surgery if they are properly informed about the approximate consequences and risks of complications.
Tablets and Supplements
Penis enlargement pills, patches, ointments are commonly advertised all over the internet. Many products contain harmless substances, but there are many products that have not been tested at all for safety and side effects, and no product has been scientifically proven to be effective.
Physical methods of magnification
A variety of physical techniques have been used in an attempt to enlarge the male penis. To date, none of them has been found to be effective. Techniques include stretching, augmentation using light weights, and increasing blood flow and / or blood pressure in the penis. There is also significant "overlap" between methods designed to enlarge the penis and methods designed to achieve a different effect, specific problems such as reversible impotence, increased erection duration, improved sexual orgasm, and so on.
Penis pump
The penis pump is a cylinder located in the penis that has a manual or self-contained pump that creates a partial vacuum around the penis that increases as blood flows there. When the vacuum increases, then the pressure in the blood vessels of the penis increases; excessive vacuum causes vascular damage.
Pumps can be used to temporarily overcome the symptoms of impotence, but they do not cure the disease itself: ring-shaped tourniquets must be used to keep the blood trapped inside the penis, otherwise the erection will die out. The pumps can work even when nerves or vessels are affected, which prevent natural erections, but excessive or prolonged use (over several hours) will cause long-term harm.
Pumps must be used very carefully to avoid serious injury: if over-enthusiastic, blood vessels can burst and blisters appear.
Kazem, Hosseini and Alizadeh investigated the effectiveness of such pumps for permanent enlargement of the penis. They studied 37 men whose penis was less than 10 centimeters long and did not notice any significant change in penile length after six months of using the pumps, although 30% of them were satisfied with the method. The conclusion of the article suggests that vacuum treatment of the penis is not an effective method for enlarging it, but it does provide some psychological satisfaction for some men.
The pumps have been used successfully in the treatment of men with Peyronie's disease, which causes unusual shortening and curvature of the penis. One study by the Department of Urology in London, in 31 men, found "clinical and statistically significant improvement in penile length, curvature angle and pain after 12 weeks of vacuum pump use. "In this study, subjects with Peyronie's disease were pumped twice daily for ten minutes for 12 weeks. The extra penis length, an average of 0. 5 centimeters, was a side effect found in about one third of the subjects and was not the focus of the study.
Clamp
Clamping is a very risky and dangerous method. The purpose of the clamp is to increase the length of the penis using compression devices such as a shoe lace, cable clamp, tight ring, used to restrict the flow of blood from the organs. The device is securely attached to the base of the penis, and the man is engaged in "promotion" (extended masturbation). The metal ring is dangerous because the blood in the penis gets stuck, this may be the reason for the impossibility of subsequent removal of the ring without emergency assistance through amputation or sawing off the ring. Clamping can cause catastrophic long-term damage to the penis.
Hand exercises
Jelq
Jelqing is a physical therapy method designed to achieve "natural penile enlargement" by increasing blood pressure and circulation. This is done by repeatedly stroking the penis in a squeezing motion from its base to the glans; special devices have been created to achieve the same effect. This movement is reminiscent of milking.
According to the BJUI article, the method is of ancient Arabic origin; the Arabic word for "milking" is sometimes claimed as the etymological root of the term, but this is a controversial issue and the actual origin of the term becomes unclear.
Despite the unsubstantiated statements of the supporters of the method about the effectiveness, there is no medical opinion confirming its effectiveness. In addition, medical journalist Christopher Wanjek said that the assertion that the method "will enlarge the hollows of the penis, which are filled with blood intended to increase erections, does not make sense biologically. "
Although considered the safest of all "radical" penis enlargement methods, jelqing can cause rupture of blood vessels, scar formation, pain, disfigurement and desensitization of the penis.
Cosmetic methods
Instead of changing the actual size of your penis, you can make it look bigger by eliminating pubic hair or simply losing weight. Circumcision is also sometimes cited (humorously) to make the penis appear more visible, both more and less.
